Power facilities under attack in Ukraine
The country's energy systems have come under increased attacks in recent weeks

During the night, Russian aerial assaults have caused power cuts in extensive areas of the capital city, the Ukrainian capital.

Several individuals were wounded while inhabitants in eastern neighborhoods were plunged into darkness and dealt with disruption to water systems, according to municipal leaders.

Simultaneously, a young boy was lost their life in a distinct aerial attack in the southeastern region in the country's south-east, according to local officials.

Russian forces has escalated assaults on electrical systems over the last fortnight, while Ukrainian leadership has called for "real steps" from international partners to exert influence on Russia.

"What is required is not window dressing but strong steps - from the US, European nations and the major economies - in providing defensive weapons and enforcing penalties," mentioned in a online statement.

Officials stated that 450 drones and over thirty rockets attacked the country's power systems, labeling such strikes as "premeditated" and against "essential services" as the weather cools.

The energy minister said Russia was "launching a major assault" and maintenance teams were working to repair systems.

A series of attacks hit energy infrastructure and residential structures in the capital.

Several of the people hurt in the strikes on the city have been taken to hospital, per statements from local officials.

The attacks come after periods of aerial attacks in the territory, parts of which are occupied by Moscow's military.

The whole nation is under warning for advanced weapon attacks, which are tougher to spot.

National leaders told the media that Russia was purposely seeking to destroy the country's energy grid, with assaults already affecting gas facilities.

Officials stated utility staff and officials were preparing for more assaults.
